    Founder | Clinic Director

    As Founder and CEO of Courageous Transformations, Inc, Charlotte is responsible for running all facets of the Opioid Treatment Program. Charlotte received a degree in both Pharmacy and Biology from the University of New Mexico. She is an active member in pharmaceutical societies, currently she serves on the Board of the Bernalillo County Addiction Treatment Advisory Board (ATAB) and has served as the Secretary for the NM Chapter of the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence. Additionally, she served on the Naloxone strategy group for the BCCHC Opioid Accountability Initiative and the NM Healthcare Executives. Charlotte has also served on various other committees and boards to increase quality assurance initiatives.

    IFOC Chaplain

    Co-Founder | Director of Operations

    Chuck is one of the Founders of Courageous Transformations and serves as the Director of Operations and Lab Manager. He works closely with all the different departments and insures operations run smoothly. He is proficient with the IT operations. He received his IFOC certification, and has also served as a chaplain. His contributions have helped form a strong framework at Courageous.

    Clinical Supervisor

    Karla is the current clinical supervisor at Courageous Transformations. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and has been working in Medication Assissted Treatment (MAT) programs since 2015. She received her Master’s degree in 2015. She started working at Courageous Transformations as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and was promoted to Clinical Supervisor in December 2019.

    Medical Director

    Dr. Maviglia is the Medical Director at Courageous Transformations, clinical professor with the Department of Family and Community Medicine, (UNM, Albuquerque, NM) and with the College Of Population Health, (UNM, Albuquerque, NM). He is the Scientific Advisor for CNAH (Center for Native American Health, NM, Albuquerque, NM). He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult and Addiction Psychiatry, by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Review Physicians. He has a Master in Public Health and has been working in the field of behavioral health for decades with a keen interest on cultural issues and social determinants of health. In this context, he has worked extensively in the field of substance abuse, has been involved in research activities, and has published regarding behavioral health issues. Also, he has been involved in the development of the managed care system for behavioral health services in New Mexico. Currently, his main areas of interest are Behavioral Health within the framework of the Recovery Model, in general, and in particular with Native populations, development of clinical protocols and initiatives focusing on psychiatric drug withdrawal, research and diffusion of the notion of Historical Trauma in Europe, integration of effective culturally based approaches and social determinants of health in the practice of general psychiatry and addiction medicine, coordination, and integration of care between mental and physical health.
